Como cada año hemos intentado crear un espacio de reflexión, diálogo y expresión creativa para celebrar el Día Internacional de la Mujer Trabajadora y el nivel de participación ha sido muy alto en todos las actividades. Muchas personas han asistido a la exposición de cuadros organizado por Llucia Lummel y Laura Hedrosa, los talleres, los recitales y las conferencias de Dona i Salut....
Sin embargo, nos falta una gran mujer trabajadora. Nos falta Margalida Perelló. La primera víctima del año de violencia de género en las Islas Baleares, en el pueblo de Artà.

This year TEFL.com is supporting English Alive Academy, a school for the poor in Nazareth, Ethiopia. Our sponsorship includes the cost of a teacher for a year as well as a contribution to the school's Dream Room Fund which will refurbish and equip an existing classroom, in desperate need of repair, into a 'dream room' for the class and its teacher.

In a country where 77.8 % of the population live below the poverty line, there is an enormous need for a high quality, subsidised education which enables all pupils to reach their own potential, regardless of ability. All of the pupils' families live on less than 2 dollars a day.

The Travelling Book

This is a dream come true for Gal Kleinman, founder of Magical Moments around the World, an online global project whose virtual pages have turned into PAPER and can be seen, read and felt by people across the world. Xisca Riera and I joined the project in 2009, sharing and registering the special moments of a group of Na Caragol students. Three years on we have the honour of being the first to receive and host the "Magical Moments Travelling Book", and our students have the great satisfaction of seeing their words in print in a beautiful publication. Thanks to Julia Oliver Koppen and Ana Garcia, English Coordinators of the British Council Project a special ceremony was organised to celebrate the arrival of the book. Both High School pupils and Primary are continuing to share positive experiences and even families have become involved as parents and grandparents tell of their magical moments.  Congratulations GAL and PARTICIPANTS around the world. The book came with a message of LOVE, PEACE and HARMONY which reflects the essence of the blog PAPERDREAMS. I am very proud to be part of this amazing global initiative and invite everyone to turn the pages and take part too....

This is so exciting! Everyday we are impressed by the number of people across the world who are inspired by the Lawrence Bread & Roses strike of 1912. It is truly amazing. From our base in Lawrence, Massachusetts, USA we have been working for over 2 years to insure that the sacrifices of the strikers of 1912 are remembered. We've heard from people doing events in London, UK San Francisco, California and now Mallorca Spain! The Bread & Roses movement has become a global movement.
